Lovers of luxury cars were in for a treat at the recent launch of the Porsche GT2 at the prestigious Guarnieri showrooms in Malaga. Revealed to great expectation, this sporty superstar has garnered rave reviews in the specialist press, and every speed freak from Marbella to Malaga was out to welcome the gleaming white motor and drink to its success.

The new Porsche GT2 is quicker and lighter than the blisteringly fast 911 Turbo. No 4x4 though, the power comes solely from the rear wheels and the twin-turbocharged six cylinders which deliver more than 530 horse power and can carry its passengers at over 320mph. With a price tag nearing 200.000 euros you only get 3.6 seconds to enjoy the car before you reach 100 kph - this is not a car for the faint-hearted.

The launch evening was a huge success with car nuts and petrol heads coming from all over the Coast to see the new model which has had such a good pre-launch write up in the motoring press. Guests included Carlo Mason of Super Car Rentals and Hans Möller from the Starz Café and Marbella Mini Club. The collection of cars outside the luxury Guarnieri showrooms was quite a spectacle in itself with the guests' Bentleys, Jaguars, Ferraris and Porsches lined up one after the other.
