Action Against Hunger  Hold 1st Event in Marbella

Marbella may not be enjoying the most opulent period, as the recession bites, but many leading companies and society figures have come together in support of the most needy. 

 

The Action Against Hunger Charity is staging an event in Marbella for the first time, and has garnered support from a wide range of institutions, and the business community at large in order to raise funds for the tireless work of charity workers who face head on the hunger and misery suffered by children, and adults in the world's forgotten countries. 

Working all around the world from Africa and Asia to Latin America, Action Against Hunger saves the lives of thousands of children and families by providing clean drinking water and emergency food supplies.

 

 

Dinner with Donations

The companies and guests involved in the Gala Dinner on 12 November at the Hotel Incosol such as Fischer Car Group, Patricia Nahmad, Amar Clinic and the lantanafilms are not only counting their blessings but in supporting the gala, are gathering much needed donations to fund the valuable work and supplies provided by Action against Hunger team. 

The high profile gala will start with a welcome cocktail at 8pm  from 9.30 pm and full, 3-course gala dinner, and throughout the evening there will be several performances, film projections and a fashion show to inform and entertain the guests.  A thought-provoking short film, created by Alberto Nahmad  ponders the dilemmas of the wealthy, and the trivialities of life, and contrasts the experience with a life without food. 

 

 

Presenting the evening's programme will be radio and TV presenter Felix Ramos and the guests can enjoy opera from Valeriano among other musical interludes.  Children from The Fiona Jones School of Dance will perform the Michael Jackson song, Heal the World. One of the highlights will be Patricia Nahmad's fashion show which will showcase the latest autumn/winter collection from her own haute couture line and the brand's new urban range, Astrid. The models will be joined by some of Marbella society on the catwalk showing not just the clothes but their solidarity for the serious issue of world hunger.

All guests are requested to bring an item of non-perishable food to the event to donate to Bancosol Alimentos - a food bank for needy families on the Costa del Sol.
