Sparkles from Constanza Seijo

A flourish of colour and creativity has been added to Avda. Ramon y Cajal, with the opening of an inspirational jewellery store. Constanza the  wife of well-known international jeweller, Antonio Seijo, has launched her own line of creative jewellery under the effusive name of Sparkles. The colourful pieces, which can be worn as brooches or pendents, are all individually crafted by hand making intricate patterns in beading, mirror and assorted trinkets in bold and bright designs.

Bringing  a Bohemian touch to the collection are evocative hand-written names that suggest every piece tells a story.  And effectively, they do. As the artist tells it, Sparkles is born out of a love of colour and the idea that we should all reflect our own inner light.

Unlike costume jewellery, each piece is unique, an original piece of art, with its own personality, often combined with a symbol, of an animal or a pagan god. Constanza finds inspiration in unusual places , adding tokens found on her travels, or given by friends to her quirky and  personalized Sparkles. Constanza has expressed her love of the beauty of the world in many different ways, with canvases, literature, even a cookery book.  Not afraid to share her passion, Sparkles, her own line of jewellery is the latest incarnation of her positive and inquisitive artistic spirit.  As she admits, her husband’s fine jewellery fashioning some of the world’s most spectacular gems, is beyond the reach of many pockets, and Sparkles is an affordable alternative to “the real thing”.

Sparkles was launched into Marbella society with a discreet and alegre cocktail party in the Sparkles shop on the town’s central Avda Ramon y Cajal.  A temple to hippie chic, the store exudes an esoteric glow.  Carrying the works of Amrapali the Indian jeweller to the rich and famous, along with a range of divine indian silks and clothing, Sparkles is the place to go for a heart-felt gift or trinket to treat yourself.
